Product Name
Product Introduction
ND-AHF-80-400-C is a floor standing cabinet rated 80 A at 400 V AC (3P4W) built for paper mills. It removes harmonic current at the point where the non-linear load connects, so the distortion stops at the source instead of spreading through upstream switchgear, transformers and generators.
Winder and press drives change speed continuously, so the harmonic spectrum drifts with line speed and the tracking loop must keep up with it.
The unit measures the load current continuously and injects an equal and opposite compensation current, so the grid current returns to a near sinusoidal shape while the load keeps running unchanged. Reactive power compensation and three-phase unbalance correction can be enabled on the same hardware, which means one Active Harmonic Filter AHF can replace a combination of capacitor banks, detuned reactors and balancing equipment.
Product Features and Highlights
Main technical characteristics of this 80 A 400 V Active Harmonic Filter AHF:
- Fast Dynamic Tracking
Detection happens within microseconds, so compensation follows welding, crane and press loads that change cycle by cycle. - Industrial Control Chip with 16-bit AD
A 16-bit analog front end keeps the compensation current accurate even when the load current carries steep, high-order distortion. - Residual THDi Below 5%
After compensation the grid current distortion is normally held under 5%, in line with IEEE 519 and GB/T 14549 recommendations. - Integrated HMI with Event Log
The LCD panel shows voltage, current, THDi, power factor and module status, with event records for fast diagnosis. - Modular Plug-in Architecture
Power modules slide in and out for maintenance, cutting mean time to repair during planned shutdowns. - Two Sets of External CT Terminals
Both CT input sets can be assigned to different feeders, which simplifies retrofit wiring inside existing switchgear. - Complete Internal Protection Chain
Over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, over-temperature, phase-loss and short-circuit protection act without external relays. - Low Auxiliary Power Loss
Auxiliary consumption stays a small fraction of rated current, so the unit does not become a new heat source in the room.
Typical Application Scenarios
This Active Harmonic Filter AHF is normally installed on the following loads:
- Winder and rewinder drives
- Press section and dryer section drives
- Pulp refiner motors
- Coating and calendar drives
- Mill 400V auxiliary boards
Why Customers Choose Us
Reasons buyers select our Active Harmonic Filter AHF for projects in paper mills:
- Project-Specific Engineering
Capacity, voltage class, CT ratio, cabinet colour and communication protocol are configured against your single line diagram instead of being taken from a catalogue page. - Selection and Survey Support
Our engineers review your harmonic measurement, calculate the required compensation current and issue a written selection report before you place an order. - Full-Load Aging before Packing
Every Active Harmonic Filter AHF runs a 24-hour full-load aging cycle and is inspected against its test record before shipment. - One-Stop Power Quality Supply
AHF, SVG, intelligent capacitors, reactors and controllers come from the same factory, so interfaces and protocols match across the whole compensation room. - Spare Parts after Warranty
Fans, control boards, CTs and power modules remain available at reasonable cost once the warranty period ends.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about this Active Harmonic Filter AHF from project engineers and distributors:
Q: How do you size the compensation current?
A: We start from your harmonic measurement or a site survey: load current, THDi and the target distortion. The required filter current is then calculated with margin for future load growth.
Q: Which loads produce the harmonics this unit removes?
A: Variable frequency drives, UPS and rectifier systems, SCR heaters, welding machines, induction furnaces, EV chargers and any load with a non-linear current draw.
Q: Can it filter harmonics and compensate reactive power at the same time?
A: Yes. Working modes are selectable: harmonic only, harmonic plus reactive power, or harmonic plus reactive power plus three-phase unbalance.
Q: What are the warranty terms and the lead time?
A: A limited warranty is provided, with the exact period stated in the sales contract. Standard lead time is 7 to 15 working days after the deposit is received.
Q: Can the unit report into our building management system?
A: Yes. RS485 Modbus-RTU is standard, with Ethernet or other protocols available as options at the time of ordering.
Q: How difficult is on-site commissioning?
A: The adaptive algorithm self-learns the site parameters, so no manual calculation of grid impedance is needed. A manual, a parameter guide and remote support are supplied with every unit.
